I watched Mom sew, knit and quilt and have always loved the sounds of the needles clicking. To this day, I still remember her determined fingers take something simple and make it into something beautiful. Treasures, made with love.

Over the years, I’ve taught myself the same crafts (and more) and learned so many lessons from others. The common thread is color. Moody, bright, enchanting color.

With inspiration all around me… whether it’s Mother Nature or whatever catches my eye, I often think of how I can recreate colors to use with undyed yarns and roving for spinning.

What will it become…

And then, there’s Mabel. My darling corgi who crossed over the rainbow bridge. I promised her I would finish my hand-spun/hand-dyed cardigan sweater. For her. It’s done and It’s Me.

As life would have it, change is inevitable and it’s a good thing. My true love is here. Manny is my partner in everything, and he totally supports my fiber diet. How lucky am I? Very.

Then comes Rusty. Our newest addition. He’s busting with energy and learning to be a grown up.

Life is good… really good.
